Midlinging is a bed for kids created for the Circular Design project Ikego. It is suited for a standard slatted frame measuring 700x1400mm and a standard mattress with the same dimensions. The slatted frame is not part of the model but fits perfectly in it. Midlinging was developed as a B-model to the bench Shouidou.

Ikego’s “standard tolerance rule” allows you to finish the bed in the colours, materials and shapes you like. And the additional holes allow you to attach all kinds of decorations or practical items such as bookshelves, sideboards and so on.

The parts in this model were made for a bench Shouidou and aesthetically fit the bench. If we had made them for this bed, they would have looked different. Maybe we’ll add a render with aesthetic ideas at some point? Perhaps you would like to help?

210mm rod
note: this is an additional elephant rod (095.1, 095.2, 095.3, 095.4)with the length of 210mm
- What: A rod with M6 insert threads on both sides.
- material: strong | standard tolerance
- measures: 210mm high (fixed!), ⌀ ~35mm. The insert threads are 15mm+ deep in. There is an extra 25mm space for a bolt after the insert thread. So in total there is room for a 40mm M6 bolt (see this sketch) | Tolerance? The length is fixed at 120mm, but the ~35mm diameter is flexible within the standard tolerance
